They facilitate chemical reactions, such as leaching, precipitation, or pressure oxidation, to dissolve metals into a solution for purification, often employing autoclave reactor for high-temperature/pressure processes.
Applications
● Leaching: Dissolving metals, e.g., copper, gold, uranium, from ore using acid or ammonia solutions.
● Battery/E-Waste Recycling: Processing black mass from spent lithium-ion batteries to recover cobalt, nickel, and lithium.
● Pressure Oxidation: Using autoclaves to break down refractory ores e.g., gold ores that trap metal in sulfides.
● Metal Purification & Recovery: Precipitation or solvent extraction to refine metal-rich solutions.
